Anonymous: <p>Hey! I&#8217;m realizing more and more that I&#8217;m genderqueer and that I&#8217;d really like to explore how I express. So it&#8217;s time to buy my first binder! Whee! I have a 36DD chest. I&#8217;m looking at the Underworks Extreme Series Ultimate Chest Binder Tank Double Front Compression Shirt 997. Yeesh, that&#8217;s a lot of terms. Okay. Since I have a 36 chest, it says to get a medium. But my cup size is insane, so should I get a bigger one? Do you have any ideas for other binders for large-chested people? Thank you!</p>

Okay, so the thing about measuring at underworks is that the number that goes with your size isn’t just your band width  (36, for you). Here’s what they say:How to measure:  First take a snug measurement under the bust line with a tape measure.  Next take another measurement over the fullest part of your chest.  Again not too tight but not too loose. Take the average of theses two measurements and apply the result to the scale provided below.”

That average will, obviously, be larger than 36. So check that out- if I had to guess, you’re probably a large.

As for other binders, the 997 is your best bet from underworks. (Though, it depends on your body shape. If you’re more curvy, stick with the 997, but if you’re more straight with less tummy fat, you might consider the 988.) For people above a C cup, t-kingdom really isn’t worth considering. At lesloveboat, look at the o-neck (http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=78) or full coverage (http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=77_66&products_id=239) models- because of the size of your chest, you don’t want to get the ones with less coverage up top; you’ll spill over the sides. Search around the site for something that looks good for you. Any Juya or Double Collection binder is going to do as good of a job at compression, if not better, than the underworks.

No matter what site you use, look at the size chart specific to that site! Lesloveboat works a little differently than underworks, though often the sizes match up- I’m a medium at both sites (36C).

Stay excellent!
